Traditionally, the teaching method in India has been driven by Guru-Shishya (Master-Disciple) method, where the interaction between the teacher and the student drives the learning of the students.

Lately, the medium has changed and we have moved on from physical classrooms to virtual classrooms. However, though the medium has changed the interaction between the teacher and the student is as important as it was earlier.

The virtual classroom must provide similar experiences and learn to the students. The students, while attending class and learning a new concept will have doubt- the doubt needs to be resolved then and there and should not be parked for the future. The purpose of education is to invoke curiosity among students. A questioning mind needs nurturing and it is the role of the mentor to provide fodder to that fire.

The need of the hour is making live interactive classes available to the students where students learn, question, argue and assimilate the concept. The facility of online classes should be a mere change in media, not in the approach towards education.

The tradition of interaction and discourse between mentor and the mentee must be upheld, agnostic to the media.
